One of the most fragile and sensitive concerns for many artists is the desire for their work to be flawless and perfect.

Stuck is an immersive sound installation exploring the inner world of someone constantly striving for perfection in their art and the journey of breaking out of the stumbling loop created by perfectionism in three parts: Fear, Realization, and Acceptance.

The project uses manipulated field recordings from places that hold personal significance in my life, transformed sounds of objects, digitally designed sounds, analog synthesizers, musical elements, contact microphone and hydrophone techniques and electroacoustic techniques to compose a sonic representation of the attempt to break out of this cycle. Stuck is designed for an 7.1.4 Atmos environment, creating a sense of pressure and a multi-directional experience to make the listeners blend in with that inner world.

Stuck is my response to the biggest struggle over my 10 years of making music. It is an exaggerated demonstration of the realization that, in order to move forward as an artist, a step must finally be taken, and that this step can never be perfect. The final piece, intentionally far from perfection, will be the first project I release in my career.

My biggest challenge to myself so far.
